History - how have seaside holidays changed over time?

Image
Year 1 had their final history lesson of the year today and in this lesson, they reviewed all that they had learnt about the seaside and seaside holidays over the last 100 years.  The children were required to look at various seaside holiday pictures and select whether those pictures were from over 100 years ago (Victorian/Edwardian era); 50 to 60 years ago (our grandparents era) or nowadays.

Owl & Monkey Haven Trip

Image
We had a fantastic morning at the Owl and Monkey haven. We had a look round at all the animals, including monkeys, apes, owls and meerkats. Then Jordan, one of the keepers, showed us some of the monkeys in more detail and explained where they had come from and what they like to eat. He then got out Jasmine, the royal python. He held Jasmine and came round the circle and let everyone (who wanted to) touch and stroke her.
